Once again, with our international family from theTandem Turkeyprogramme, we focus on a historical rich and multi-cultural place. In collaboration with the NGODiadrasis(Greece), the NGOMardin Kültür(Turkey) and the women’s associationÖzgür Κadın Kolektifi we participate in the programme with the project:Mardin Pasaji.
Mardin Pasajiis a participatory sociocultural project, which aims at raising awareness, mainly of the youngsters, regarding the importance of the architectural heritage of the beautiful city of Mardin, in the Southeast of Turkey. We design and implement a treasure hunt for the teenagers and an educational seminar for professionals in culture and education.
Treasure Hunt
We designed a game of exploration and discovery within the old city of Mardin. The points of interest include some of the most fundamental landmarks in the area, such as the Grand Mosque, a Syrian Orthodox church, villas and other religious, military and educational centres from different eras and cultures. The aim of the programme is to highlight the diversity of the region and the harmonious coexistence of different historical and cultural layers.
Educational Seminar on Interactive Cultural Routes
In addition to the Treasure Hunt, a seminar on Cultural Routes was delivered at the local state museum,Mardin Müzesi. Invited speakers, experts in this field, emphasized the importance of using routes as a method in culture and education and invited participants to develop together an interactive walk presenting in the end their approach.
