10 years participatory and sustainable cultural experiences
10 years full of people and stories
In our journey so far, we count 80 projects and 30 research and development activities. Most of them were implemented in our home base (Attica), but – and given the approximately 10 trips per year – we found ourselves in 14 more regions of Greece (Ionian Islands, Epirus, Preveza, Thessaloniki, Rhodope, North Aegean, Karditsa, Magnesia, Evrytania, Evia, Cyclades, Achaia, Arcadia, Crete) and in 14 more countries (Türkiye, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Georgia, Ukraine, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, England).
Of course, we were not alone! At every stop and along every route, we had on our side unique people and organisations. Specifically, 54 collaborators, 48 volunteers, 70 artists, 45 media, 11 associations, 21 municipalities, 4 ministry departments, 9 university departments, 16 public benefit institutions, 13 museums / archives / libraries, and 90 organisations active in the fields of culture, social action, environmental awareness, technology, and education.
All the above had an approximate community impact of 14,000 children and more than 15,000 adults, who attended our events and activities, as well as 1,700 annual website visitors and 15,500 people per year, who engage with our work through our social media platforms.

We were five women and Hü, wandering through the labyrinthine streets of beautiful Mardin -exploring, discussing, dancing, laughing. This is the first image that comes to my mind. It has always been a delight to walk beside you, to witness your creativity, and to grow through all we’ve shared. In Turkey, we are truly lucky to have a neighbor and partner like you.

It has been my pleasure to collaborate with you both, and I’d love to continue working with you on different occasions.
How can someone forget our cooperation, our meetings, our work together - mostly during the difficult times of Covid - and the rewarding result, the educational programme "Strofades, an unknown treasure in the middle of nowhere", based on our book "The last monk of Strofades", a programme which travelled at schools from the remote village Anopoli Sfakia Crete to Athens College, all over Greece, N. Epirus and recently Astoria New York!
We are grateful for this cooperation, your remarkable ideas, and the wonderful way you adjusted our project to the curriculum, making it possible to "touch" so many different ages of pupils as we sensed from the reactions of the students we addressed.
We wish you and the "Peripatos" to continue your work with the same enthusiasm and success in the years to come.

Peripatos is celebrating 10 years and we’re celebrating 5 years of collaboration together! Here’s to many more creative years ahead, and we look forward to continuing dreaming and creating meaningful and beautiful things together. If there’s one thing we’ll always carry with us from these years, it’s our shared journeys to the Aegean islands and we’re excited to see where the next ones will take us.

In a very important action of Canon under the Kyosei framework, the Bridging Generations project aimed to highlight the bridging of generations through knowledge and creation. Peripatos supported Canon’s team in capturing the result of this beautiful journey at every step with exceptional professionalism and ethics. They were always one step ahead of the project’s needs, adding value and quality to the endeavour, which was ultimately a resounding success! The outcome would not have been the same without the contribution and immediacy of Peripatos. For this, and for the heartfelt work of each team member, we sincerely thank the entire team and wish them only success for many more decades like this one!
Since 2021, we have had the pleasure of collaborating with an organisation whose comparative advantage is its people! Together, we created the programme 'Click on learning' for the remote tours of the Hellenic IT Museum, in a collaboration full of inspiration and with an excellent final result.
I am proud to be your companion on this journey and I wish for your journey to continue walking on new paths!
Because, in the end, the most beautiful walk is the one we take together - and with Peripatos, it’s a journey worth embarking on!

I have been fortunate to closely follow the journey of Peripatos, from its first steps to where it is today. I’ve seen how passion for culture and a deep commitment to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage have transformed into tangible efforts and creative actions. What’s most important is that the energetic team of Peripatos, with enthusiasm and consistency, has never stopped evolving and innovating. Well done to the Team. Well done, girls.
What I have learnt alongside Peripatos during this decade is that culture is neither a hobby nor a luxury. It is not something that simply exists; we sustain and recreate it every day.

We have collaborated on several projects with Peripatos, mainly for cultural education applications. For example, at the War Museum (Chalkida Branch), we designed an educational mobile and tablet application for young visitors, and for the Music Library “Lilian Voudouri”, we created educational programmes for schools. Working with Maro and Evangelia is always a pleasant and creative experience! I particularly appreciate their flexibility when it comes to changes in specifications!
Congratulations on everything you’ve achieved - I truly mean it. You constantly inspire me with the dedication and care you bring to your work. What’s remarkable is that no matter what you're handling, you never pass stress onto your collaborators. You show trust, and you give space for others to do their part. When I work with you, I feel free and I automatically shift into a mindset where I’m not delivering out of pressure, but because I genuinely want to bring you the best possible result.
Another thing I’d like to share is how much I appreciate the support you offer to your collaborators. You invest in both professional and human relationships, so that together, we can all thrive. You never see things one-sided and you care about your collaborators’ experience.

Wow! 10 years of Peripatos already?
I’ll travel quite a few years back, deep into Turkey, to Hasankeyf, where Maro and I spent a very different kind of Easter, implementing a mosaic workshop. What I remember most fondly from that workshop isn’t just breaking colourful tiles as part of the creative process, but the fact that we were also breaking down deep-rooted stereotypes about women in that remote region.
It’s a beautiful memory of something we did together, and I think it’s the one I want to share - personally as Laura, who loves you dearly, but also from all the owls at Diadrasis. You know you’re our favourite team.
We wish you to keep being creative - not just for 10, but for 10x10 more years - and to keep making thousands of beautiful steps through the world of culture.

I often forgot when I was working and when I was just having fun - somehow, it all blended into one!
