Milos Mining Museum

The Milos Mining Museum, in collaboration with Peripatos, is organising a series of events to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Museum, the International Museum Day 2018 themed: “Hyperconnected Museums: New approaches, new publics” and the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018: “Our Heritage: The Past Meets the Future”. A five-day event (17-21/05/2018) open to all ages, full of activities and experiences.
But, since once is never enough, the actions returned for a second year (9-13/05/2019), inviting the people of Milos to experience the museum “alternatively” through five days of exploration and play.
More about the activities:
- Escape Room: 21 Elements
Every second, 21 elements are combined to form approximately 15,000 unique organisms. 21 elements, the perfect biochemical compound. A vivid game of balance between truth and deception. Your only tools: keys, puzzles and your sharp mind to uncover the ultimate recipe for creation! Will you make it in time?
For adult groups of up to 7 participants | Duration: 60 minutes
- Educational Programme: Homo Oryctus
I’m Homo Oryctus! No, I’m not a mineral, but I do contain elements found in many of them! Let’s discover them through puzzles and riddles! Where can they be found? What functions do they serve in our body? And which dietary habits provide us with them? Are you ready to discover Homo Oryctus?
This programme is for pupils of Elementary and Junior high school.
- Museum Kit and Self-Guided Tour Backpacks
Milos Mining Museum presents its new educational material to the public. The Museum Kit and Educational Folders bring the Museum to Greece and abroad, to anyone interested in learning about it. And for those who want to enjoy their visit and learn about the exhibits in a creative way, the Self-Guided Tour Backpacks offer an experiential tour, where parents and children can learn together, from and about the Museum.
