Spring Tales

"If you cannot find spring, make it."
Odysseus Elytis

Spring will first arrive in our hearts, and from there it will flood the whole world. How will this happen? But of course, through myths and fairy tales, we will travel to all kinds of spring adventures and we will celebrate the colourful nature from wherever we may be. Spring brings the message of hope and optimism, elements necessary for young children to deal with the difficult situation we all experience.

For this reason, we are particularly happy to cooperate once again with BillyBro and the Municipality of Maroussi within the framework of the digital activities of the Public Benefit Enterprise of the Municipality of Maroussi. Peripatos undertook the artistic direction and co-production of the project Spring Fairy Tales. The dramaturgy, the narration, and the reflection on the essence of the stories, as well as the original soundtrack, compose our methodological approach to presenting classic stories in a contemporary way for our young audience.

“The North Wind and the Sun”

Our oldest storyteller, the famous Aesop, left us a fable where the North wind and the Sun compete to find who is stronger. Κindness, in the end, proves mightier than anything else. Before it, everyone bows.

“Milia”

Years ago, in beautiful Greece, the great writer Emmanuel Rhoides wrote a very nice story. Milia, a girl with beautiful eyes and long hair, was a kind-hearted and generous creature, who was loved, not only by people, but also by the animals and birds of the forest. Our heroine reminds us of the importance of connecting with nature and animals, and of the enduring values of generosity and solidarity.

“Tonight we fall asleep in Spring's lap, resting our head against her heart.
We hear heartbeats and birds breathing in our sleep.”
