Summer Camp

Lifelong learning begins the moment children encounter knowledge outside the school setting, in a space where imagination, freedom, and creativity take center stage. The themed Summer Camp programmes we organise almost every summer are one of the most vivid examples of this approach.

Sometimes we undertake the organisation of entire Summer Camps, while at other times we participate with selected activities and educational programs. Summer Camps are multi-day programmes specially designed for primary school children and hosted in schools or other cultural and educational venues during the summer months. Each camp has its own thematic identity, becomes an opportunity for exploration, experimentation, creation, and play.

We rely on the same pedagogical principles that guide all our work:

  • Experiential learning: through arts, storytelling, workshops, role-playing, and group activities.
  • On-site discovery: using the space (school, museum, neighborhood, park) as a living educational field.
  • Collaboration: where children work in teams, interact, build relationships, and are encouraged to trust themselves and others.

Why are they important?
Because they:
  • enrich children’s time with meaning and joy,
  • broaden their interests beyond the school curriculum,
  • cultivate skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, and creative thinking,
  • offer space for expression and spontaneous learning,
  • and build a positive relationship with learning, in which children rely on into later life stages.

Our Summer Camps are not just creative ways to occupy the holidays. They are an educational investment, a celebration of learning in an environment of freedom and safety. They are the practical expression of our belief that children are learning always and everywhere, as long as we provide the right motivation and the appropriate environment.

Indicatively, we have implemented the following complete Summer Camps:

Open Schools (2017–2019)

A programme by the Municipality of Athens, implemented with the founding donor the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the coordination of the Athens Partnership and the Ioannis S.Latsis Public Benefit Foundation. Every summer, we visited multiple schools in the Municipality of Athens, delivering each time a different themed programme:

  • An Olympic Game (2017): Through games and visual arts, children learn about the importance of the Olympic Games and caring for the body in a fun and engaging way.
  • Children’s Cafe (2018):  We put screens aside and play, create, explore, and socialise. Through movement and knowledge games, handmade board games, and interactive conversations, children experienced a unique programme deeply connected with nature and the needs of the mind and soul.
  • Fix your Earth (2019): A different ecosystem to discover each day! The sea, the land, freshwater, and the city served as inspiration for physical games based on theatrical principles, creative art-making, knowledge-based games, and storytelling as a starting point for communication.

Summer Camps

In the summer of 2025, in collaboration with the Play & Fly Acrobatics School, we designed a unique journey of expression and movement for each week, inspired by a different historical period or form of art.

We have also participated with selected activities in Summer Camps such as:

  • Summer in the city by the Municipality of Alimos (2020)
  • Summer operation of the Creative Learning Centres (ΚΔΑΠ) of the Municipality of Palaio Faliro (2021)
  • Summer Camp of the Municipality of Aspropyrgos (2022)
  • Summer Camp of the Municipality of Dafni-Ymittos (2023)
