Vocational Education
Learning is a continuous and, above all, two-way process, whether it is about our relationship with the public or with (potential) colleagues. Moreover, knowledge is not the property of an individual or an institution; it is something that deserves and needs to be shared. Only then, it can multiply and grow collectively, cultivating a more mature, creative and open field.
After all, the cultural field can only evolve when its people evolve along. How? By being willing to listen, to share, to learn, and to experiment, not from a position of authority, but from one of collegial curiosity, solidarity, and collaboration. We believe this is the path toward shaping a shared professional space that does not reproduce silos and insecurities, but instead supports, develops, and co-creates.
At Peripatos, we invest in ongoing professional dialogue. Knowledge transmission is not limited to formal education. It happens daily through observation, the exchange of practices, and mentoring programmes. We also place great emphasis on internal training sessions and frequently organise co-learning workshops. For example, the experience and expertise we’ve developed in cultural gamification are shared through in-person or online workshops, such as the seminar “Cultural Mystery Games”.
Additionally, in collaboration with the Association of Cultural Heritage Consultants in Greece (ESDIAPOK), we have offered a series of training activities, such as:
- The workshop “Managing the Team” (2016), which aimed to present tools and practices for one of the greatest challenges faced by a Cultural Manager: encouraging team cohesion and developing a spirit of collaboration -internally and with external or specialised partners.
- The workshop “Turn Your Idea Into a Reality” (2018), where 4 start-ups (then), including Peripatos, shared their experiences and guided participants through a series of activities to support new initiatives from young people wishing to work in the cultural sector.
- “Intangible Cultural Heritage Today” (2024), an interactive, participatory, and collaborative workshop where we explored solutions and designed creative strategies to attract audiences to institutions that safeguard, manage, and highlight elements of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
