Municipality of Maroussicooperates with Peripatosto launch a series of cultural interactive routes. We aim at introducing everyone to the rich cultural heritage and tradition of one of the most ancient municipalities of Attica, as well as to spend their leisure time constructively and pleasantly.
In the first route of the «The Roads of Culture» programme, entitled “Athmomon-Amarysia: A City of 3000 Years”, we will highlight the few remaining ancient findings that are an integral part of the later history of the city. Like the Virgin Mary of Neratziotissa which was built in the ancient temple of Artemis or Saint John of Pelica erected on the foundations of a Roman temple in honour of the goddess by Herod. While using as main axis the Byzantine churches, we will refer to both the ancient and recent past of the city, as well as its contemporary identity.

The second route entitled: “Craftsmen and Artists in Marousi” will feature the works and the creators of visual, applied and folk arts of the city. Some of the stops included in the route are: the “Spyros Louis” Olympic Gallery, the Folklore Museum and the Hellenic Ceramic Centre.
The cultural walk will take place on Sunday, November 19, 2017, from 10:30 am.
