Below you will find more information and how you can become a member of Artemis & Diana!

The Artemis & Diana project centers on empowering women personally and professionally, through tailor-made workshops, dedicated to cultivating their skills, regarding local cultural and natural heritage, as well as entrepreneurship. By intertwining women’s empowerment, gender equality, cultural heritage preservation, and environmental protection, the project aims to make a positive impact on rural communities, fostering both sociocultural and environmental well-being.

The project will be implemented in Kalavryta, Greece & Brindisi, Italy, in collaboration with

  • the Erifili Centre,
  • the environmental organisation QG Enviro and
  • the Collettiva TransFemQueer, via the cultural and social association TempoPresente A.P.S.

Objectives

  • Empowering women at a personal and professional level.
  • Developing new business skills.
  • Raising awareness about the protection and promotion of local cultural and natural heritage.

During its 12-month lifetime, Artemis & Diana aims to positively impact

  • at least 20 women who will participate in the workshops, through upskilling and professional empowerment and opening of new professional pathways;
  • the local societies, since the whole of society is empowered when women are empowered, and as cultural and environmental heritage exploitation may lead to sustainable economic growth;
  • employers and entrepreneurs, by showcasing that women can take on any role and have a place in every professional field;
  • the local authorities and decision-making centres to help women stay in the workforce.

Activities

At least ten women who live in the wider area of Kalavryta, Greece and a respective group of women in Brindisi, Italy will attend ten two-hour workshops that will combine education about the cultural and natural heritage of their region; the development of digital and business skills; but also gender equality and the management of the challenges they face women in modern society. The workshops, which are designed according to the specific needs of the local women, following an analysis that was run through personal interviews, will be accompanied by an open source Digital Handbook.

The workshops will take place between April – May 2024 in both regions. The two women’s groups will cooperate virtually throughout the project, whilst in July 2024, the Italian group of women implementing the educational program will visit Kalavryta, and in October 2024, the group of women from Greece, who will complete the training, will travel to Italy for the final event of the project.
