Eco-Friendly Printmaking and Storytelling Practices for Artists
GREENPRESS is a Creative Europe cooperation project bringing together partners from Greece, Cyprus and Ireland to explore eco-friendly printmaking, visual storytelling and community collaboration.
The project supports artists through workshops, training activities and international exchange, while promoting environmentally responsible artistic practices and the reinterpretation of cultural heritage through storytelling.
Through collaborations with local communities, GREENPRESS aims to connect contemporary artistic practice with participation, sustainability and social engagement.
Project Duration: March 2026 – June 2028
Project Objectives:

Partners:
- Peripatos sociocultural enterprise (Greece): Project coordinator focused on participatory artistic practices, printmaking and community engagement.
- Hambis Printmaking Museum & School – HPMS (Cyprus): Printmaking museum and educational institution specialising in traditional and contemporary printmaking practices.
- Creative Spark (Ireland): Creative organisation supporting artistic exchange, sustainable creative practice and residency programmes.




Activities:
- Artist Workshops: A series of workshops will support participating artists in developing eco-friendly printmaking techniques and approaches to visual storytelling. The workshops will focus on sustainable artistic practices, experimentation and knowledge exchange across the three partner countries.
- International Residency in Ireland: Selected artists and project partners will participate in a residency hosted in Ireland. The residency will provide space for artistic exchange, skill development and collaborative experimentation focused on sustainable printmaking practices.
- Community Workshops: Artists will collaborate with local community groups in Greece, Cyprus and Ireland through participatory workshops. These activities will encourage co-creation, storytelling and creative expression through printmaking.
- Exhibitions in Greece, Ireland and Cyprus: Project results and artworks will be presented through exhibitions organised across the three partner countries. These exhibitions will showcase the artistic outcomes of the project and engage wider audiences with eco-friendly printmaking and storytelling practices.
- Dissemination & Educational Activities: GREENPRESS will organise communication and dissemination activities throughout the project, including online promotion, publications and educational resources, ensuring that the project’s methodology and results remain accessible beyond the project duration.
Outputs & Resources:
- Community-Created Artworks: Artists and participants will co-create a series of illustrated narrative artworks developed through the community workshops and storytelling activities.
- Bilingual Digital Resource: The project will produce an open-access digital resource presenting the methodologies, approaches and lessons developed throughout GREENPRESS. The material will be available in English and Greek.
- Printed Publication: A printed publication will document the project process, artistic outcomes and participating artists, bringing together texts, reflections and visual material from all project activities.
- Print Box Sets: A limited series of print box sets will be produced, featuring artworks created during the project and supporting wider dissemination of the artistic results.
- Exhibition Documentation: Photographic and visual documentation from workshops, residencies and exhibitions will be collected and shared as part of the project archive and dissemination activities.
