The Ephorate of Antiquities of Arkadia and the Archaeological Museum of Tegea, under the auspices of Municipality of Tripolis, collaborates with Peripatos to celebrate the International Museum Day. The theme for 2017 is “Museums and contested histories: Saying the unspeakable in museums”.
- Educational Programme: “The people and their myths, an endless story”
Starting from the history of the ancient city of Tegea, children are invited to explore the hidden aspects of the region’s most important historical and mythical figures through artistic and experiential activities. Aiming to connect young learners with the area’s cultural wealth, the museum “opens its box of secrets,” inviting its young visitors to uncover them.
- Guided Tours & Museum Kit Presentation for Teachers
As part of the celebration of International Museum Day 2017, guided tours will be offered to the public along with special information sessions for groups of Primary and Secondary Education teachers. These sessions will focus on the use of the museum kit, educational folders, and the guided tour backpacks of the Archaeological Museum of Tegea, all created within the framework of the project.
- Escape Room: “Escape the Museum”
The events will culminate in the afternoon with an interactive mystery game. Collaboration, logic, and speed are your tools for success. Time is ticking. Gather clues, keys, codes, and riddles to complete your mission within 1 hour. Will you make it?
