Bridging Generations
How can Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
be captured photographically?
This exact question is addressed by the action entitled “Bridging Generations – a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion story“. The initiative is inspired by the Kyosei – Japanese philosophy, which forms the cornerstone of Canon’s philosophy and strategy, envisioning organisations and people -regardless of race, religion or culture- to coexist and collaborate harmoniously for the common good and contribute to the prosperity of society.
Grandparents together with their grandchildren, who are primary school children – aged between 6-12 y.o., participate in a unique experience through a series of workshops focused on the themes of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Photography. During these workshops, they visually express these themes through photography and later exhibit their works in a photography exhibition.
At the same time, a photo contest is being held by the Photo Contest photographic community.
Part of the photos from the workshops, and the artworks of the top five photographers of the competition, will be presented in the group photo exhibition “Bridging Generations – a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion story“:
16-18 June 2023, 18.00-20.30
Former Naval Base Park (L. Pentelis & Kallianiou, Vrilissia 15235).
The leading technology company Canon, guided by the spirit and values of the Kyosei philosophy, organises the action under the auspices of the Social Protection & Solidarity Organisation of the Municipality of Vrilissia. We, at Peripatos, have undertaken the overall curation and implementation of the action. The team is supported by the organisation Genderhood for the presentation of the topics of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and by Canon Photographer, Giorgos Mashalidis, for the training in photography and the curation of the photo competition.
