Nikos Vandoros
Nikos Vandoros is an Architect (BA from the National Technical University of Athens), with a postgraduate specialisation in Monument Management and a particular interest in the reuse of abandoned building shells. In 2012, he received the Thomaidio Award for his participation in the “Pilot Green School”, a programme aimed at the energy upgrade of a primary school in Metamorfosi. Also, in 2015, he received the START: Create Cultural Change scholarship from the Robert Bosch Foundation, through which he implemented, in collaboration with the Ephorate of Antiquities of Piraeus and the Islands, “The Urban Game”, a cultural action that uses gaming applications, new technologies and digital art to highlight neglected urban landmarks and archaeological sites. The actions of “The Urban Game” have been included in the events celebrating the International Museum Day and the Maritime Days of the Municipality of Piraeus, while in 2018 they were also included in the European Year of Cultural Heritage. Currently, he is working on his doctoral thesis, for which he has received a scholarship from the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation, at the National University of Athens, while at the same time, collaborating with the NGO People Behind as a lecturer of educational workshops. He has been collaborating with Peripatos since 2020, in the framework of the design and implementation of urban games, escape rooms in museums, and other international and collaborative projects.
